As an Investments Specialist – Asset Management based in our office in Zurich, you will be responsible for supporting the team throughout the investment lifecycle, with special emphasis on post-closing value creation and investment management tasks on specific assets as well as implementation and enhancement of investment management processes on portfolio level. The role includes, but is not limited to, the following key responsibilities:

• Supporting asset managers in measuring and creating shareholder value in existing portfolio investments, which includes:
  • Analyzing adequate company and fund KPIs to monitor asset developments against investment thesis
  • Developing, maintaining and improving valuation models to track investment performance including coordinating various stakeholders such as valuation agent
  • Supporting in strategic decision-making by providing qualitative and quantitative analysis and following-up on legal agreements. Key events include, for instance, changes in capital structure, business strategy, revenues, technology, ESG, governance or regulatory developments
  • Writing and further developing periodic reports on the managed investments in companies for the attention of the investors, lenders and investment committees

  • Undertaking proactive liquidity planning including management of debt utilization, equity drawdown processes and financial covenant control

• Supporting the sourcing and execution of new transactions by executing company and asset valuation, coordinating sub-streams in the acquisition process and performing independent research on specific markets

• 3-5 years of working experience working in top-tier companies in any of the following sectors: energy/utilities, private equity asset management and consulting/advisory, exposure to infrastructure assets is mandatory
• Excellent academic background with a degree from a top-tier university, business school or technical university
• Affinity with energy technologies and power markets combined with strong knowledge of corporate finance and accounting
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and conceptual thinking

• Take leading role throughout the investment lifecycle, starting from sourcing and execution of transactions to post-closing value creation and asset management tasks
• Develop, frame, analyze and execute value creation initiatives throughout the investment lifecycle in close collaboration with external and internal management and supported by the internal expert functions
• Take full ownership of managing participations in our portfolio companies and assets with end-to-end responsibility for delivery of investor returns and insightful client reporting and a mandate in the Board of Directors in the portfolio companies, if relevant
• Responsible for the execution of the due diligence process, structuring of potential debt financing and offtake agreements, valuations and coordination of advisors including inter alia technical, legal, financial, tax and M&A together with a team of analysts and associates
• Negotiate key transactions, building consensus and lead governance discussions with (industrial) partners, portfolio companies and sellers
• Prepare investment memoranda including key risks and mitigants and present value propositions to the investment committee
• Independent research on specific markets and investment opportunities including the derivation of possible investment strategies

• Excellent academic background with completed studies in business administration or natural/engineering sciences with a Master or Ph.D. degree from a globally recognized top-tier university of business school
• At least 5-7 years of investment experience working in the energy industry or on sizeable infrastructure transactions and/or investments globally
• Significant experience of managing a highly motivated team and comfortable managing complex deals/projects
• Strong network in the energy market with the ability to originate and source deals
• Profound understanding and experience of M&A transactions, gained from a substantial track record of transactions through conducting due diligence processes in the infrastructure sector and negotiating transactions independently
• Familiar with project financing and good commercial and technical expertise coupled with a strong understanding of the key value drivers and risks of potential investments that are in line with compliance requirements
• Strong analytical and conceptual thinking and ability to quickly familiarize oneself with complex topics
• Independent, pro-active, flexible and entrepreneurial approach; therefore, a self-motivated personality with excellent communication skills and with a positive, can-do attitude
• Fluency in English and German is a must; other languages are an advantage

This position will focus on risk management and valuation oversight. As part of our risk and compliance team based in our Luxembourg office in Belval, you will be responsible for the following activities:

• Implementing procedures and controls designed to ensure the AIFM’s compliance with prevailing laws and regulations as well as internal requirements in relation to risk management and valuation
• Taking an active role in setting up and maintaining risk profiles at AIFM and fund level; in particular regarding the definition and monitoring of KRIs consistent with the AIFM structure, with the vehicle at umbrella level and with the single assets
• Reviewing and analyzing valuation reports including methodologies and data inputs provided by the investments and portfolio management teams as well as external independent valuation agents
• Liaising with portfolio managers and valuation providers on an ongoing basis to allow the AIFM to have a deep view on the rationale behind the risk indicators and the valuation assumptions
• Production of periodic risk and valuation related reports in order to provide the Conducting Officers, the AIFM Board of Directors and the funds’ Board of Directors with the required information
• Participating in the preparation and the ongoing monitoring of action points of risk and valuation related committees of the AIFM
• Contributing to the due diligence and the ongoing monitoring of the AIFM delegates through the collection and assessment of KPIs

• 2-3 years of experience in the field of portfolio management or risk management/valuation related to alternative investment funds with illiquid investment strategies
• Degree in Business, Finance or Mathematics; any additional qualification in risk management or valuation will be considered as an advantage
• Proven know-how of relevant investment structures and Luxembourg industry regulations as well as best practices
• Strong knowledge of the AIFMD, Luxembourg laws and governance requirements (AIFM Law of 2013, Circular CSSF 18/698, etc.), as well as product knowledge of Luxembourg fund vehicles (SIF, RAIF, SCSp, etc.); Knowledge of illiquid asset valuations and reporting systems, previous exposure to infrastructure asset will be considered as a plus
• Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, very good communication capabilities
• Proactive and hands-on approach, eagerness to constantly learn and face new challenges

Your role will focus on supporting our Head of Luxembourg Office on both the administrative and operational side including office management. Your will work in close collaboration with the local team, our colleagues from the office in Zurich and external parties. As part of our Luxembourg operations team, you will be responsible for:

• Proactively managing the diary of the Head of Luxembourg, scheduling/coordinating internal and external meetings, conference calls and video conferences across multiple time zones; liaising with assistants from multiple teams across the company and outside of the company to ensure efficient planning for meetings, events and deliverables
• Ensuring the Head of Luxembourg’s preparation for internal and external meetings including confirmation of logistics and potentially printing materials/support documents, preparing agendas, documentation and presentation material

You will be responsible for steering business development and sales activities within the segment of large and sophisticated institutional clients mainly in Germany and Austria as well as other selected countries within the European economic area. You will cover pension funds, insurance companies, single family offices and global financial institutions. As part of our team based in Luxembourg, you will be responsible for:

• Identifying and developing of new business opportunities resulting in new net sales flows and strengthening local consultant relations and contribute to global consultant co-ordination process
• Maintaining and deepening existing client relationships, preparing and leading client portfolio reviews and act as “center of competence” / “product specialist” for product related client inquiries by ensuring in depth knowledge about EIP’s products, investment approach and EIP’s investment view
• Driving the further development of the company’s client marketing & sales strategy as well as the product development strategy while initiating and coordinating local marketing activities (mailings, client events, seminars)

• At least 10-15 years of business development/sales experience in the asset management industry, with proven track record in selling private markets/infrastructure investments to institutional clients
• University degree in finance and/or economics and/or equivalent advanced training (CFA, CIIA or CAIA, or progress towards obtaining them)
• Relevant experience and relationships on C-suite/decision making level to key pension funds, insurers, and consultants within the top segments of German & Austrian institutional market
• Exceptionally strong business development & sales skills, paired with investment knowledge as well as entrepreneurial enthusiasm paired with the ability to build and maintain trustworthy, credible, sophisticated, and long-term oriented partnership with your clients
• Strong communication and presentation skills and a structured sales approach supplemented with a self-motivated and passionate character with entrepreneurial mind-set and team spirit with the ability to work towards tight deadlines in a very dynamic environment
• Sound knowledge of the marketing regulatory framework in the respective markets
• German and English fluent language skills are required, French and further languages are a plus
