We offer an exciting position within Energy Infrastructure Partners (EIP), an investment boutique specialized in private equity investments in the energy infrastructure sector. EIP is a pioneer in its field, acting as an investment manager for a large number of institutional investment vehicles and currently managing over CHF 3bn of capital.

The role:

As a member of the Portfolio Management Team, the Associate will play a key transversal role within the organization, empowering Energy Infrastructure Partners (EIP) with modelling and valuation best practice and optimizing the risk-return profile of infrastructure portfolios.

  • Participating in portfolio construction activities such as strategy, fund models, and industry benchmarking
  • Acting as a treasurer, managing portfolio liquidity, mapping/monitoring and hedging against key portfolio risks
  • Developing modelling best practices across EIP by reviewing transaction models and providing specific training to EIP analysts
  • Supporting the valuation cycle, ensuring consistency of inputs and methodology across portfolio assets

The candidate:

You are an infrastructure modelling professional with a passion for digging into complex contractual clauses in a best-practice way, whether they are related to project finance, tax structures, PPAs, SPAs, or valuation.

  • Curriculum demonstrating a passion to overachieve, either academically or in any other kind of undertaking; mentorship experience as project lead
  • Professional experience of 4-8 years including building from scratch (and leading) complex state-of-the art infrastructure models on utility-scale projects, whether on the project finance lending side, developer/owner side, or valuation advisory side
  • Outstanding holistic view in corporate finance with past exposure to several aspects of an infrastructure project (treasury, project finance, M&A, equity, development, advisory, etc.)

Investment Writer

The role:

The new Investment Writer will be responsible for the production of recurring and ad-hoc investment commentary across EIP’s full range of investment products, along with writing and editing copy for other documents such as thought leadership pieces and ESG reports. This involves interacting closely with various teams across the company such as portfolio management, analytics, investments, distribution and communications. The role includes, but is not limited to, the following key responsibilities:

  • Full ownership of the various reporting processes (recurring and on ad-hoc basis) and ensuring impeccable quality of end products as well as coordinating and maintaining the reporting schedule

Experienced Data Scientist

The role:

From day one, the new Data Scientist will spearhead EIP’s efforts in the area of data analytics, driving the build-out of the function while generating valuable insights from internal and external data sources. These insights will be an important driver in portfolio construction, investment decision making, and portfolio asset improvements. The role is split across three objectives:

Build out data analytics platform:

  • Identify and secure access to the most relevant and valuable data sources (both at the asset and portfolio level as well as the macro/market level); ensure ongoing data collection and data integrity
  • Evaluate, design and implement the appropriate tools, databases, processes and routines to perform the required analyses
  • Empower teams to perform one-click queries by themselves, providing training and user-friendly interfaces

Provide performance and risk analytics for assets and portfolios:

  • On a recurring basis, generate relevant statistics on the asset (e.g. commercial availability) and portfolio level (e.g. performance attribution, risk factors), to be integrated into the relevant periodic internal and external reports
  • On an ad-hoc basis, support the evaluation of new, prospective assets under consideration as well as the fundraising effort with key clients by providing relevant statistics at short notice

Deliver data-driven insights and recommendations on an asset and portfolio level:

  • Provide insights by identifying risks and opportunities associated with existing or new, prospective assets under consideration
  • Provide insights for portfolio construction of existing products and support the design of new investment products
  • Support the investment writers in drafting thought-out, insightful client reports by comprehensibly explaining the key risk and return drivers as well as relevant interdependencies

The candidate:

  • Excellent academic background with studies completed in quantitative sciences with a Master or Ph.D. degree from a globally recognized top-tier university, ideally complemented by an additional degree in business administration

The role:

Reporting to the senior investment professionals of the Origination and Transactions team, the Investment Associate will be responsible for the coordination and execution of energy infrastructure investments globally along with supporting the origination phase of transactions.   • Supervising a junior team of analysts, the Investment Associate is responsible for executing the due diligence process, supporting the structuring of potential debt financing and offtake agreements, leading valuations, taking ownership of financial models and coordinating advisors including inter alia technical, legal, financial, tax and M&A

Asset Management Analyst/Associate

The role:

In this newly-created position the candidate will support asset managers in creating and monitoring shareholder value in existing investments. The main tasks will consist of:

  • Reviewing strategies and structures of portfolio companies and assets
  • Setting up and optimizing governance structures
  • Defining, requesting and analyzing adequate company KPIs to monitor developments against investment thesis
  • Updating and improving valuation models to track investment performance
  • Assisting the management, Board of Directors or other EIP representatives with decision-making, by providing qualitative and quantitative analysis. Key events include, for instance, changes in capital structure (distribution policy, refinancing), business strategy, hedging policy, governance, regulatory developments
